First and Last Frame Workflow for AI Video Scenes
Plan start frames, motion and end frames so AI video shots connect more deliberately.
Think in three parts
Instead of treating a video prompt as one paragraph, break the shot into Start Frame → Motion → End Frame. The start establishes composition and state, motion explains what changes, and the end defines where the shot should land.
Start frame
Describe the subject position, environment, framing, wardrobe, props, lighting and camera angle before movement begins. This gives the scene a clear visual baseline.
Motion
Describe only the changes that occur during the shot: subject action, camera movement, environmental motion and any important timing. Avoid introducing unrelated new objects halfway through unless the story requires them.
End frame
State the final pose, position and composition. The end frame can become the continuity reference for the next scene, especially when a sequence is intended to feel connected.
Connect scenes deliberately
If scene two follows immediately, its start should inherit the relevant state from scene one’s end: clothing, props, direction of travel, weather and time. If there is a time or location jump, make that change explicit rather than allowing accidental drift.
Use the workflow
The AI Continuity Studio organizes each storyboard card around start frame, motion and end frame. For a single shot, the Veo Prompt Generator is the faster option.
